I am rethinking the composition of the squad a little bit to expand it from ten troopers to fourteen, with a fifteenth figure acting as some sort of Terminator armored captain. This way they can also cruise around in an Inquisitorial tricked out Land Raider Crusader!
Like all members I am planning for the squad, I wanted a figure without a helmet so I could have that extra kick of real character. Finding a helmetless Techmarine was going to be tricky, until I utilized the Barter Bucket! Mucho thanks to SeƱor Kent for dipping into his collection of vintage Techmarines and sending this one to me. The excellently pulled off power axe conversion you see is all his doing. Thanks!
I have that same Techmarine but I subbed out the power weapon for a pointing arm since he has a modeled on bolter so cannot get the 2 weapon bonus for it. But that is for 40K not RPG stuff. Ofcourse I do not think I have ever used him.

I went out of my way to track this one down, being the only helmetless techmarine around. There was another one with a bionic arm holding a bolt pistol, but it was limited run or whatever. Your guys is way shinier than mine, I like that arm swap you did too.
ReplyDeleteNow he looks ready to take a trip on the Omnicron Deamon to the Eye of Terror.
ReplyDeleteReally nice conversion :) Will he be completely Deathwatch colours? Any Mechanicus red in there?
ReplyDeleteHe will be completely DW colors, no Mech red anywhere (same thing for the librarian and apothecary). Furthermore, none of the marines will have colored shoulder pads, they'll have their individual chapter symbols, but have a uniform background color.
