Project: Zombpocalypse
The zombie apocalypse is a particular scenario of apocalyptic fiction that customarily has a science fiction/horror rationale. In a zombie apocalypse, a widespread rise of zombies hostile to human life engages in a general assault on civilization. In some mythologies, victims of zombies may become zombies themselves if they are bitten by zombies; in others, everyone who dies, whatever the cause, becomes one of the undead. In either scenario, this causes the outbreak to become an exponentially growing crisis: the spreading "zombie plague" swamps normal military and law enforcement organizations, leading to the panicked collapse of civilian society until only isolated pockets of survivors remain, scavenging for food and supplies in a world reduced to a pre-industrial hostile wilderness. The day that the zombie apocalypse begins is often known, by analogy with military operations such as D-Day, as Z-Day. -Wikipedia

Are you starting a game for this ? I am jealous .... that will be awesome !
ReplyDeleteI think Chri3 was pretty jazzed after our last game of the Song of Blades and Heroes variant, Fear and Faith. SO much so I think he's going to make it "his game" and run it. Since it's a great game, I'm going to put together this little band of survivors for it, so yeah, I think we'll be doing more zombie gaming in the future. If not, they'll be fun to paint up anyway!
ReplyDeleteWhere can I find the rules?

ReplyDeleteJust $8 bucks!
Cant see it.
ReplyDeletenever mind, I dont have pp or $8
Zombie stomping, bring on Shaun of the Dead!
ReplyDeleteI guess one zombie just isn't very scary.
ReplyDeleteSome zombies rules :
ReplyDelete-Battlefield Evolution : Apocalypse Z (Exploading Goat Games)
-All Things Zombie : better Dead than Zeds (Two hours Wargames)
-Ambush Z (never played it)
-Shambles (RPG in the zombie point of view)
-Zombapocalypse (or zombipocalypse, or something mixing zombie et apocalypse) is also a RPG supplement explainig all the origins of zombies (from vodoo to medical experiments)
I own the first two and the last two rules I mentionned. I often play ATZ wich is freakin' good. See my blog for AAR.
Enjoy zombie madness.
@Oz: You saw Shaun of the Dead, not only is one zombie not very scary, they can be downright comical. I've gotta hand it to the news media, I think they trumped the awesomeness of a word like 'zombpocalypse' with their 'snowmageddon' a couple of months back.
ReplyDelete@Ulu: Thanks for all the game tips! I own ATZ, I just haven't looked through them yet. And the RPG's you mentioned sound great.
I love the sci-fi game 3:16, and I saw there's a solid fan-conversion making it into a zombie-splatterfest.
Shaun of the Dead is ment to be comical.
ReplyDeleteOf course! A romantic comedy at that!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have about twenty Foundry and West Wind SWAT figures painted up that would be perfect for this. Also a few survivors, too. Just need Chri3 to paint up a couple hundred zeds and we're good to go.
ReplyDeleteYou keep missing all the good games, haha! Did you and Flounder have a falling out none of know about? ;)
ReplyDeleteHow about Zombie Hunters?
ReplyDeleteNo way, just been too busy with work and life!
ReplyDeleteHey, great blog, I'm just curious about which company 3 of the models come from (the 2nd row guys and the 4th row guy with the red ballistic mask...) Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteHeya Anon! You've got an eye for those figs aye? So did I, and luckily for you they all come from the same company. They're part of RAFM's USX line:
