It actually took me pretty much until now to have seen the animated movie Megamind. I waited too long it seems. The movie was good enough as far as animated movies go but the main character of the same name was awesome. His awesomeness makes him a shoe-in for Thor's Day heroes.
It seems there is a trend developing with the types of characters I'm inducting; egotistical, narcissistic, megalomaniacal, flawed characters who skirt the line between good guy and bad guy. Not that they represent me or anything, they just seem more interesting. Megamind comes in on all of those counts. Not only is he an evil genius and has his own brand of wit, but he turns into a great good guy and in an unprecedented move gets the girl in the end. This is the same girl mind you that he used to kidnap all the time for his evil plans. Obviously I'm not crazy about the kidnapping thing.
We only saw this a couple of months ago but enjoyed it also.

DeleteI haven't seen it yet I'm afraid but knew of the character.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun movie. You don't need to go out of your way to watch it, but if you enjoy the superhero genre at least it's worth a watch.
