Hello all, Chris here.
I haven't posted anything recently, so I thought I'd pop in to prove my continued existence.
I've had difficulty staying focused on any of my projects to make decent headway. However, I do have a few pics to share.
These chaps are some British regulars from the wonderful Mutineer Miniatures Indian Mutiny line. I had just finished reading John Masters' Nightrunners of Bengal and James Leasor's Follow the Drum , and decided to dig out my Indian Mutiny figures to put a dash of paint on a few of them. These five represent the total of my progress on this project, with the rest languishing in bare metal. I hope to get enough painted to play the Indian Mutiny variant for Sharp Practice.
After playing Pulp Alley, I drifted over to the pulp island in my ocean of unpainted lead. I've had these girls half painted for awhile now, and decided to finish them up. They are the She Wolves from Pulp Figures. I don't think they turned out too bad, though I now know that I can't paint a swastika worth a darn.
A friend at work mentioned giving 6th edition 40k a go, so I decided I needed to get some paint on the mountain of GW figures I have on the shelves. Unfortunately, I have got no farther than a test paint of a space marine. I've always had trouble settling on a space marine chapter, but I finally plumped for Ultramarines. I know they seem to have a bad odour about them these days (at least on some of the 40k forums I have visited), but I like the availability of Ultramarine specific figures and bits. Besides, I remember thinking Ultramarines looked pretty cool when I first started getting White Dwarf back in my teens.
Well, that is all the pics I have to share this evening. I have a number of other figures on the paint desk, including the first of my Napoleonic French. I also have a couple of orders winging their way to me from across the pond. As a devoted Anglophile, I have always had a particular interest in the English Civil War. I tried out the Warlord plastic ECW figures, but found they didn't suit me. After much searching, I've decided to go with Renegade and Bicorne. I imagine all other projects will go back into stasis when the orders arrive.
That's it for me, and until next time, carry on gaming!
Progress is good progress!
