Don't Drop Your Hammer

I haven't had a post or mention of one of my favorite bands, The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets in some time. A chance comment by their lead singer the other day over on the Minions of the Monster Master prompted me to rectify this.

The above video is rather new for a song that's not quite so new. Nonetheless, it's a great song and I'm glad it's now got a great video to go along with it, so enjoy!

Here's a bonus still shot of the cargo hauler

  1. That was pretty good! I love a good space themed geek band.

Have you ever heard of Man or Astro man? Space themed surf rock. Sadly, they are long since broken up:

  2. Check them out, I think you'll dig what you discover, especially if you like the whole Lovecraftian mythos. As for Man or Astroman, heard of them? Yeah! I've actually seen them live...twice! And yes, it is very sad they are no longer.

  4. I saw them in Asheville, no Tesla coils but they were wearing their suits and when I saw them in Knoxville, five bucks to get in the door, they had pretty much nothing (including a stage).

  5. Not a bad song, but was anyone else thinking at the end of that video, "...wait, if there's fire on the wreck there should be oxygen. Just take your helmet off."

  6. The first time I saw I was thinking, "Why not just take your helmet off?" But then I figured the alien-atmosphere thing was going on. Didn't think about the fire!
