Thor's Day Hero: Spider-Girl

You know people actually asked if I was a bit disappointed when were having a girl because I couldn't share all the geek stuff I enjoy with them? What?!?!? Obviously they weren't too close of friends! Mind you, firstborn has her girly tendencies, she's a girl after all, but she also loves Hot Wheels cars, Star Wars, superheroes, and more. Halloween is always good to indulge in the superhero genre, and here we've got a pint-sized Spider-Girl in a half-homemade costume. The Spider-Man homage couple with being my direct genetic offspring are all reason enough to include Spider-Girl into the Thor's Day Heroes.

    1. Heh, thanks! Nothing beats the classic Spider-Man cartoons in this respect either!

  4. You just have to align it with your interests. "Sure you will like star wars. One of the main characters is a princess."

    1. Hey Brad, good to hear from you again! That is about the cutest Leia I've ever seen, don't tell my daughter! Dress LB up as R2-D2, your wife as (wait, were there any OTHER females in Star Wars?!?!) and you need to go as Han Solo and your fam is set!

  5. Of my two children it's my daughter who has turned out to be the geek most in tune with my own interests. Mind you, she's also into manga, anime and, at 15, seems to have a wider knowledge of porn terminology that I do :-o

    1. It's a tough duality to pull off. Gaming is my escape, but at the same time I want/need to share it with my daughter. Especially before she 'phases' out as a teenager.

Oh, and YIKES on the porn terms!

    1. Heh, I agree! She's a big Hulk fan now, so next Halloween might be a tad more green. Then I can go as Wolvie and we can reenact the classic "What If?" issue.

  8. Cool! I've got 4 daughters, no wargaming interest from either of them, but I've managed to get 3 of them to support Leeds United!

    1. Hey, at least you have sports! I can't get my daughter to even acknowledge American football.

  9. My oldest is also a girl and geek through and thru. She knew the difference between khaki and olive drab while most girls were learning their crayola box of crayon colors. Her and her brother play D&D with the "old guys" and Daddy'Daughter time includes blazing away on MW3 every week. Her first day of 8th grade volleyball practice she wore her spiderman shirt. Couldn't be prouder.

    1. That sounds awesome. No MW3 for us, but we do rock some Minecraft, err, if you could call that 'rocking'. Trying to work some more daddy/daughter time around the game table, more on that to come.

  10. I usually hate "Look I managed to reproduce" posts-but I think I'll make an exception in this case. She's a cutie. I believe I can allow a "Hulk Smash!" post in the near future.

    1. "Managed to reproduce", heh, I'll have to remember that one. There actually is another four-color pic in the mix somewhere, but I can't recall when it's queued up.
