Space Marine Trailer

Relic's new Space Marine video game

I've seen this trailer popping up on a lot of 40k blogs, and with good reason, it looks like a solid, action sci-fi romp that just happens to be nestled in everyone's favorite little dark future world of 40k. Whereas the trailer is very appealing, one thing that bothers me (as a proud Dark Angels army owner) is their term "Angels of Death". You can't really say that and then proceed to show nothing but Ultramarines! One of the Unforgiven chapters, or a successor chapter of the Blood Angels, if not the Blood Angels themselves would be more appropriate. Since apparently they are never going to get around to porting Dawn of War II over to my beloved Xbox (or are they?) I'll just have to get excited about this one instead, haha.

  1. I hope it's better than the older gameplay trailer that's been out for a yearish or so.

    That one's at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js0izC5qNAE&feature=related

I think 'angels of death' is a generic term for marines, but I could deal with someone other than the Ultras, to be honest. I mean, I liked that we got the Blood Ravens in the Dawn of War series in lieu of a better-known chapter.

I hear you on the console thing...much as I like PC games, I'd rather just dump on a console every few years than have to continually wonder if my PC's rig is too obsolete.

  2. Yup, I love my console just because it's a no-brainer when it comes to sound cards, graphics cards, memory, hardware, etc.

This game looks neat, because it's 40k, but I'm not nearly excited about it as I would be about DoWII, which I'd go the store and buy on the spot if it was ported.
